This is a series of tweets that I don’t want to lose. Maybe this crazy burst of ideas will formulate itself into a new understanding of project-learning and a tricky ‘flat-classroom’ and ‘real world’ mode of cross-curricula projects. Maybe. If you want it to make any sense, read it as a twitter-feed – that’s from bottom to top.

Agree Bianca, a real project needs to have an application beyond the classroom edu walls. An purpose and audience.
I like your thinking here…
I try do some of this with different year levels. My Year 11 Extension class has to submit a self published novella (a 3000 word appropriation of a classic fairy tale), that they have created. They also have to pair up with an art student to design the cover.
I also ask students to demonstrate at least two submissions (via rejection letters or publications) of their work in professional journals or magazines. To be honest I expected lots of rejection letters – but actually got a great range of publications. They are quite savvy at picking where they will submit.
It does help them focus if there is a target.
